Privacy Policy
CallerIQ is a personal call screener. It answers the calls you don't pick up, finds out who's calling and why, turns away spam and scams, and sends you a short summary. Doing that means handling some sensitive information: calls, contacts, and the things you ask us to check. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
The short version. We collect only what's needed to screen your calls and run the service. We use trusted providers to route calls and power the AI. We never sell your data, and we never share or message your contacts. Delete your account and your data goes with it.
Who we are
CallerIQ is operated by Block Apps, LLC ("CallerIQ," "we," "us"). If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@joincalleriq.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. Your name, email address, and phone number when you sign up.
- Contacts you sync. The names and phone numbers in your device address book, so CallerIQ can recognize the people you know and ring them straight through instead of screening them.
- Scam-checker submissions. The text, phone numbers, or screenshots you send to the scam checker so it can assess them.
- Support messages. Anything you send us when you ask for help.
Information from your calls
When CallerIQ screens a call for you, we process:
- Call metadata. The caller's number, and the time, duration, and outcome of the call.
- Call audio, in real time. The conversation is processed by our AI provider so CallerIQ can understand the caller and respond. A text transcript and a short summary are created and saved to your account.
- Screening results. The caller's stated name, reason, and any callback number, plus whether the call was passed along, blocked, or flagged as spam.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and app data. Device type, operating system, app version, and basic diagnostics to keep the service working.
- Marketing site. This website uses only essential functionality and does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use your information
- To screen incoming calls, recognize your contacts, and route calls appropriately.
- To generate transcripts and summaries so you can see who called and why.
- To run the scam checker and return an assessment.
- To provide, maintain, secure, and improve the service and prevent abuse.
- To communicate with you about your account, security, and support.
We do not use the content of your calls to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your personal information.
How calls are recorded and transcribed
To screen a call, CallerIQ processes its audio and creates a transcript and summary that are stored in your account. Call-recording and consent laws vary by state and country. Some require that all parties be notified. You are responsible for using CallerIQ in line with the laws that apply to you and your callers. You control what's kept and can delete call records at any time.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us run CallerIQ, and only as needed:
- AI processing. OpenAI, to understand callers, transcribe calls, and generate summaries and scam assessments.
- Telephony. Sinch and related carriers, to provision your CallerIQ number and route calls.
- Infrastructure. Google Firebase and Google Cloud, for authentication, database, storage, and hosting.
- Payments. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor handles billing; we don't store full card numbers.
These providers may only use your information to perform services for us. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a business transfer. We never share, sell, or message your synced contacts.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Call records, transcripts, voicemails, and contacts live in your account until you delete them or delete your account. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data, except where we're required to retain limited records by law.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. View and update your profile and call history in the app.
- Deletion. Delete individual records, or delete your account to remove your data.
- Contacts. Turn off contact sync at any time in your device settings.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact privacy@joincalleriq.com and we'll help. We won't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to notify you if something goes wrong as required by law.
Children
CallerIQ is not directed to children and is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of CallerIQ after an update means you accept the revised policy.
